What happens when I don't like my editor?

My answer:

If their vision of your story doesn't mesh with yours, fire them.

I used Reedsy. I sent a note saying, "I'm sorry, but this just isn't working out. We'll have to part ways." I still had an obligation to live up to the contract, but after that I was free!

The editor I have now is amazing. If we ever come to a point where we can no longer work together, I'll let the owner of the company she's hired through know. We'll part ways. It'll then be up to me to find someone else.

If it's not working out, it's not working out.

Lucia Sugafield, loving my editor.
