Why do I need Applied History for a degree in writing?

Along with my writing classes, I’m taking Introduction to Marketing and Applied History.

The marketing I get. It makes sense. Even if I hire someone to market for me, I should know the basics.

Hello, I’m writing fiction. While what I’m writing may be someone’s reality, it’s not mine.

So again, WHY?
